Be Ye Perfect

Our spirit is born perfect when we are born again; born from above; born in the Spirit.

Our spirit is perfect because our heavenly Father is perfect and we were created in His image and in His likeness.

God is a Spirit. And, because we were created in His image and in His likeness we are a spirit.  We ARE a spirit; we HAVE a soul and we live IN a body.

Before we are born again; before our spirit is re-born, our spirit is dead and we live, very nearly from birth as body and soul.  But our soul is imperfect, dead and corruptible; tainted by and with sin.

Our soul is used to being in charge - run by and controlled by our mind, will, emotion, intellect and reason.  And this is how we still eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil today - when we live our lives by our own reasoning, intellect and will.

But when we are born again our soul is forgiven of ALL sin.  Our spirit comes alive and, being fed by the Word, we begin a process of cleaning the soul.  But, like a child, our soul rebels against being cleaned! Our soul wants to remain in charge!

This is the battle we face everyday between our carnal man and our new born spirit man.

But is is possible to live by our spirit - to humble our souls, placing them in utter subjection to our spirits. This is how we can be perfect even as our Father in Heaven is perfect.

Matthew 5:48
"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."

It is possible - with much effort, decision, prayer and the Word - to cleanse our souls so that our mind, will and emotions are not just subdued and subjected into submission, but that our souls are transformed and renewed by our spirit through the Word of Truth and the Spirit of God.

This is how we walk in the Spirit as Children of Light.  This is how we do as Jesus did and greater shall we do! This is how we are as Jesus is in this world: perfect even as our Heavenly Father is - in His image and in His likeness!

Praying your power love & peace ya'll!
